The history of the place...

In 2000 Ryszard Woźniak wa an artistic manager of the PWW Gallery with the team to support the gallery operating consisted of the following: Agnieszka Błędowska, Piotr Czech, Helena Kardasz, Paulina Komorowska-Birger, Norbert Marcjanik, Barbara Panek-Sarnowska, Grażyna Wikierska. The team opened two exhibitions: Continuation and objection (2000) and Third dimension (2000).

After a few months break due to the a bad technical condition of the building an some organizational changes in the years 2000 – 2003 the gallery was run by Helena Kardasz. Basically, the activity of the Free Choice Studio involved the presentation of the artists recognized in the contemporary art along with the promotion of young and independent artists. The exhibition preferences was a response to the necessity for a dialog and verification in the area of modern contemporary art, performance and new media presentation.

Presently the gallery is run by the Academic Circle PWW (heads of academic circle in years 2003- 2009: Helena Kardasz, Wojtek Kozłowski, since 2009: Jarosław Dzięcielewski, Wojtek Kozłowski) and the character of the activities that are conducted in this place confirms the co- operation of the students from different faculties of the Art Department of the UZ University.
